Ultherapy Give your skin a lift without surgery in Inverness
Ultherapy is a groundbreaking treatment that helps to lift and tighten the skin without surgery. Creating the effects of a surgical face lift in a completely non-invasive way. The treatment works by using your body’s natural repair system to boost collagen to lift, firm and tighten the skin especially effective in the jowel area, problematic neck area, chin and upper face. Ultherapy is also ideal for lifting the brow area, targeting under-eye wrinkles and smoothing out lines in the décolletage area.
The treatment works by using your body’s natural repair system to boost collagen levels for a naturally younger look promoting the stimulation and growth of new collagen. Ultrasound allows visulisation of ths smas area (where the plastic surgeons work) perfecting a precise and tailored treatment to create a lifting and tightening effect within the skin. This procedure encourages neocollagenesis, a natural process that occurs within the body to stimulate the growth of new collagen.

Your questions answered
What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is the only non-invasive treatment approved by the FDA for lifting the skin on the neck, chin and brow. Ultherapy deposits focused energy deep beneath the skin at the optimal temperature for collagen regeneration. The treatment jump starts a natural process, known as neocollagenesis, to produce fresh, new collagen. Ultherapy doesn’t involve toxin or creams; it simply relies on your body’s own collagen building process for natural noticeable results.
How is Ultherapy different from other cosmetic procedures?
Ultherapy is the only non-surgical cosmetic procedure that uses focused ultrasound to stimulate the growth of new collagen deep within the skin. The production of new collagen occurs over time, so results can become more apparent over two to three months. The procedure takes only about an hour for most patients and there is no downtime. It’s also the only procedure to use ultrasound imaging, which allows us to actually see the layers of tissue we target during the treatment and ensure the energy is deposited precisely to where it will be most effective.
Does it hurt?
A recent software upgrade now affords a more comfortable procedure. While comfort thresholds vary from client to client, most clients now report that the procedure is quite tolerable. If and when any discomfort does occur, it happens while the ultrasound energy is being delivered. This sensation is temporary and is a positive signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated.
How long does it last?
Patients treated with Ultherapy still have fresh young collagen after a year’s time following the procedure, but skin continues to age.
Are there any side effects?
There may be slight redness for up to an hour or so following the treatment, and a small percentage of clients may have slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature.
Is Ultherapy safe?
The procedure has been cleared by the FDA after demonstrating safety in clinical studies, and over 100,000 treatments have been performed safely worldwide. In addition, ultrasound energy has a proven track record, with use in the field of medicine for more than 50 years.
How many treatments does it take?
The majority of clients only need one treatment; however, some may benefit from more than one treatment depending on how much laxity they have and their body’s own biological response to the ultrasound and the collagen-building process. Because skin continues to age, future touch up treatments can help clients keep pace with the body’s natural ageing process.
Who is a good candidate for Ultherapy?
A good candidate for Ultherapy is someone with skin that has some degree of laxity, to the point of looking, and often feeling, less firm. A lowered eyebrow line or sagging skin on the eyelids, for instance, is often the first sign of ‘maturing’ skin. Loose skin under the neck and under the chin signals a client might be a candidate.
When will I see results and how long will they last?
After your Ultherapy treatment, you may see some initial effect, but the ultimate results will take place over two to three months as your body naturally regenerates collagen. Since the procedure stimulates your own collagen production, how long results last depends on you. The treatment produces new collagen on the inside, but your natural ageing process will dictate how long that translates in to visible results on the outside.
What should I expect during treatment?
We’ll use Ultherapy’s ultrasound imaging to view deep within the skin to determine optimal placement of the treatment energy, and then deliver the focused ultrasound energy beneath the skin’s surface. During the treatment delivery, you will feel tiny amounts of energy being deposited to precise depths, indicating that the collagen building process has been initiated.
Can men have Ultherapy?
Yes! Both women and men around the world enjoy the benefits of Ultherapy.

Ultherapy step by step
We will take the time to explain Ultherapy and the results it could achieve for you. We can also answer any questions you might have.
We will start with applying ultrasound gel. Using the handheld Ultherapy device, we will determine the best placement of the treatment energy through ultrasound imaging. The energy will bypass the skins surface and by using the ultrasound technology visulisation of the SMAS layer of the skin can be treated creating a lifting and tightening result.
There is no downtime after Ultherapy, so you’re free to get on with the rest of your day. You may experience some slight redness, swelling or tingling, but this will pass very quickly.
