Pigmentation Targeting hyperpigmentation with ZO Skin Health in Inverness
From spending too much time in the sun to hereditary factors and taking medications such as antibiotics – there are lots of factors that can cause hyperpigmentation. It’s a condition that causes skin to darken in particular areas where too much melanin (the skin’s pigment) has been produced. It can show as freckles, sun spots, age spots, dark circles under the eyes and as melasma.
Although hyperpigmentation is relatively common and usually harmless, we understand that you might feel self-conscious about it and that an uneven skin tone can be ageing. An effective targeted programme of treatments can dramatically reduce hyperpigmentation. At Emma J Aesthetics, we use ZO Skin Health – a tested and proven range of products and treatments to make the difference you’re looking for. The range can also be used to target acne rosacea and active acne.
Innovative programmes from ZO Skin Health for hyperpigmentation
ZO Skin Health capitalises on the effectiveness of Vitamin A to reduce the signs of ageing. Retinol is a derivative of Vitamin A and is one of the few substances with molecules small enough to penetrate the epidermis and reach the skin receptors. It’s this quality that helps stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin for younger-looking skin.
Here at Emma J Aesthetics, we provide both of ZO Skin Health’s approaches to hyperpigmentation programmes. These are hydroquinone and non-hydroquinone.
These treatments are particularly effective for targeting moderate to severe hyperpigmentation, especially melasma. The potent compound gradually lightens skin conditions but should only be used for a maximum of five months to avoid inflammation. After this time, we will recommend moving on to the ZO Skin Health non-hydroquinone brightening system to maintain results.
ZO Multi-Therapy Hydroquinone System
This programme is ideal for treating hyperpigmentation and is a solid starting point for targeting melasma. It restores a smooth, healthy glow by treating dry, dull and rough skin and combats visible sun spots and sun damage.
These treatments are a great option if a programme with hydroquinone is not suitable for you or you’ve been using a hydroquinone treatment and are ready to move on to the next step to maintain results. They effectively brighten and even your skin tone while reducing redness and reversing the signs of ageing.
ZO Non-Hydroquinone Hyperpigmentation System
Ideal for maintaining results achieved by the hydroquinone system, this programme ensures beautiful skin tone and texture.
ZO Skin Health 3-Step Peel
This potent peel works to make skin healthier thorough exfoliation and cellular stimulation of the deeper layers of the skin. It’s a highly effective treatment for targeting hyperpigmentation as well as fine lines, uneven skin texture, large pores, dullness and acne.
Step 1 – removes the outermost layer of the skin with a peel containing salicylic acid, TCA and lactic acid. The peel also contains saporinins to minimise inflammation and glycerine for hydration.
Step 2 – consists of the application of retinol cream to repair natural skin function and boost firming and wrinkle reduction.
Step 3 – soothes skin post peel with a calming cream to reduce inflammation and irritation.
