At Emma J Aesthetics, we use DesoBody to dissolve the localised fat in the abdomen, flanks, buttocks, thighs, and back. The injections work by liquefying the fat in the area being targeted. The dissolved fat then makes its way into the lymphatic system and is absorbed and expelled by the body’s natural processes. Depending on the area treated and the amount of fat involved, several sessions might be required to achieve the desired results.

How do fat-dissolving injections work?
DesoBody injections destroy fat cells by damaging the cell membrane and liquifying the fat in the treatment area. The destroyed fat cells are then broken down and removed naturally through the body’s lymphatic system.

Am I a good candidate for DesoBody treatment?
This treatment is perfect for clients with a normal body weight or who are slightly overweight with stubborn, localised fatty deposits, which prove difficult to lose when on a diet or performing physical activity. It is not a treatment for overall weight loss.

Are there any side-effects of fat-dissolving injections?
While the side-effects are minimal they can include initial redness, localised swelling, bruising, tenderness, and sensitivity in the treatment area. Many clients continue with their day-to-day activities straight after treatment.

How many DesoBody sessions will I need?
We recommend a course of treatment sessions with 6-week intervals for optimal results. The exact number of sessions is dependent on the treatment area and the amount of fat to be dissolved. We will clarify this during your consultation.

When will I see the results of fat-dissolving injections and how long do they last?
You should start seeing results within 2 to 3 weeks of your first treatment, however this differs from client to client. If a sensible lifestyle is maintained the results should be permanent.
