Dermal Fillers See the difference with dermal fillers in Inverness

Dermal fillers correct volume loss, replace fat pad separation within the cheek area and lower face volumization. Commonly used for all facial areas.

Over time, our natural supplies of collagen and hyaluronic acid break down as part of the ageing process. This leads to lines, wrinkles, creases and loss of elasticity. Dermal fillers work instantly and the results can last from 6 to 15 months.

Here at Emma J Aesthetics in Inverness, we offer several types of dermal fillers including VOLIFT®, VOLUMA®, VOLITE® and VOLBELLA®, as well as the Belotero and Radiesse® ranges. You can discover more about the different types of dermal filler by clicking below.

Your questions answered

How do dermal fillers work?

When we are young, collagen and elastin renew constantly. But as we reach adulthood and grow older, production slows down considerably. Dermal fillers work by replenishing your skin with hyaluronic acid to replace lost volume and smooth facial lines.

How long do the results last?

The ranges can last up to 12 – 15 months.

How long does the treatment take?

Treatments can take up to one hour. This is to allow for a consultation and additional questions answered.

Is the treatment painful?

Most of the fillers integrate into your own tissues so minimal disruption of the tissues is experienced. You will be offered topical anaesthetic (cream) or a dental block anaesthetic for lip procedures. Ice packs will also help reduce any discomfort and swelling. The products also contain lidocaine (anaesthetic) or are licensed to have anaesthetic added to them to help ease comfort of treatment.

Will the area treated be swollen or red?

There will initially be some swelling and perhaps redness, which will subside soon after the treatment. Ice packs will help minimise swelling. Some people return to work straight after filler dependent, although some swelling may last a day or two. There may also be some bruising. This can be covered up with concealer until it resolves.

Are dermal fillers safe?

Dermal fillers are an extremely safe treatment. Allergic reactions are very rare.

How should I care for the area following treatment?

– Avoid touching of treatment area

– Avoid massage of the area

– Do not apply make up for 12 hours afterwards

– Avoid extensive or heat exposure

Will the area feel hard or lumpy?

You are likely to feel the filler initially, however, most of the fillers integrate so readily into your own tissue you may not feel much of the product.

Follow our simple steps to ensure results look great immediately. Don’t touch or massage the area that’s been treated. Stay out of the sun and avoid exposure to heat.
